Teaching
I teach writing in focused, short-form settings such as workshops, residencies, and festivals, where sustained attention and shared inquiry are possible. My teaching is grounded in the same practices that shape my writing: close reading, revision, and care for language. I’m interested in helping writers develop confidence and voice while also understanding how writing functions in lived, real-world contexts.
My approach is shaped by two parallel careers: 1) as a published poet and essayist, and 2) as a long-time business leader who has spent decades translating complex ideas into clear, usable language. In teaching, that combination shows up as a steady focus on craft, discipline, and purpose without losing curiosity, humor, or humanity.
