Teaching
I teach writing as a practical, humane craft grounded in attention, revision, and clarity. My teaching work includes college-level courses, workshops, and small-group instruction focused on poetry, creative nonfiction, and professional writing. I’m interested in helping students develop confidence and voice while also understanding how writing functions in real-world contexts.
My approach is shaped by two parallel careers: as a published poet and essayist, and as a long-time business leader who has spent decades translating complex ideas into clear, usable language. In the classroom, that combination shows up as a steady focus on craft, discipline, and purpose—without losing curiosity, humor, or humanity.
